Waiting Room & Check-In

Waiting Room & Check-In
Picture 1 of 12

Great Basin Orthopaedics (GBO) purchased an existing two-story building in early 2016 for the purpose of consolidating both of their Reno offices in this one location.  Known as the Copperfield Building, the building location and size are a great asset to the type of service GBO provides in the community, and will contribute to the growth of GBO’s practice.  Currently an office with seven physicians, the office was designed to accommodate a total of twelve physicians in the practice.

The clinical portion of the office is located on the south side of the ground floor of the building.  A large Waiting Room where patient’s check-in takes advantage of the views of the adjacent wetlands and mountains east of Reno while providing comfortable seating for up to sixty people.  Wide hallways allow for patients and staff to comfortably circulate throughout the suite and a large separate, centrally located X-ray Waiting Room located between the two X-ray Rooms seats an additional fifteen patients.

Most of the twenty Exam Rooms are located on an exterior wall and enjoy natural daylighting and views of the nearby mountains while retaining the privacy that is needed for a room of this type.  Combination Physician and Medical Assistant Work Stations are strategically located to allow for efficient circulation to and from each Exam Room.  The Check-out work stations are located adjacent to the east-west running main corridor and allows for easy egress for patients and their families.

The Administrative portion of the office is located on the north side of the ground floor.  Situated at the northwest corner of the suite is the physician’s Library / Meeting Room which has a large conference table, wall mounted flat screen TV, built-in bookshelves, couch and love seats and views of Mt. Rose.  The Physician’s also have their own Locker Room and Private Toilet / Shower rooms in addition to two large six-person Offices.

Offices for staff include Administrative Offices, Surgery Scheduling, General Scheduling and Billing, with all benefiting from some type of daylighting whether it be directly from exterior windows, or borrowed light from transom windows.  A large Break Room has ample seating and food prep areas along with built-in cubbies for Staff to store personal items.
